To celebrate the release of Bong Joon-ho’s latest film Mickey 17, we’re bringing his modern masterpiece back to the big screen – but this time experience it in sumptuous monochrome. 

Parasite begins in the bright shine of daytime before descending into a dark and moody night. Likewise, the sets built for the worlds of his rich and poor families are created to highlight contrasts. So what better way to accentuate these than to present the film in black and white, allowing the contrast between light and dark to add further tension to the escalating mayhem. 

Director Bong’s fascination with hallways, tunnels and basements appears in a very different light in this version. The action may be familiar but the mood in this version is significantly darker.
