Introduction to Papermaking

Location: Print Studio

Make delicate, colourful hand-made papers from pulp. 

Learn simple techniques suitable for using at home or in the studio, such as how to create a smooth surface texture for printing on, soaking and blending recycled papers and painting with coloured pulp. Add decorative materials to make striking designs. 

Great course, excellent tutor, very enjoyable.

Need to know

  • What to bring

You are welcome to bring your own flower petals or pretty paper scraps to customise your papers.

 

  • What to wear

We'll provide aprons and gloves but recommend wearing old clothes as printmaking can be messy. Please note that open-toed footwear and sandals are not allowed.

 

  • Food & drinks

A sealed water flask or drinking vessel is permitted but other food and drinks are not allowed in the studio.

Marianne Wilson

Marianne Wilson (Livingstone) is an artist/printmaker with a BDes Hons Illustration and Printmaking and an MA Art History. She works as a Studio Coordinator in DCA Print Studio and specialises in papermaking.
