State-of-the-art facilities for printmaking, photography and digital design

DCA’s Print Studio is an internationally renowned centre for innovative print production, collaboration, and research. It offers a wide range of standard and specialised equipment for traditional printmaking, photography and digital design, from a Victorian relief press and CNC equipment to 3D printers and digital screen makers. 


With many ways to get involved, including taster sessions and tours, a year-round programme of courses and workshops, one-to-one tuition and by becoming a Registered User, this friendly open-access space welcomes everyone. The knowledgeable team also work with exhibiting artists on DCA Editions, create specially commissioned works, assist with residencies and engage with community partners.

Courses and Workshops

We have a range of practical courses to help you get creative, from taster sessions and one-day workshops to weekend courses and evening classes. 

Most of our courses are designed for complete beginners but we also offer a range of intermediate courses and masterclasses available, so you’re able to take your skills to the next level.

Become a Registered User

To use the Print Studio facilities to create your own work, you can become a Registered User.  How you become a Registered User will depend on the level of experience you have.

• If you’re new to printmaking

For those with no or limited printmaking experience, you can become a Registered User after completing a course in your chosen process. Once registered, you’ll be able to access the equipment covered in the Print Studio class you attended. 

• If you have printmaking experience 

If you have recent experience and are confident in the process you wish to use the studio for, you can become a Registered Users after completing an Induction/Refresher Session. These can be booked by contacting the team on printstudio@dca.org.uk or by calling 01382 432475.

Made in DCA Print Studio Exhibition

Providing a promotional and selling opportunity for Registered Users of DCA Print Studio, this year's exhibition will take place in Centrespace from Sat 28 September to Sun 6 October 2024 (closed Mon 30 September and Tue 1 October), with a preview event on the evening of Fri 27 September. 

Submissions are now open. To be eligible to exhibit, users must be actively registered to use the Studio, or renew their Studio registration before Sun 1 September 2024. There is a submission limit of three framed prints per user. Download our Submission Guidelines below for more information and then submit your prints using our online form. We can't wait to see what you submit!
