We host many fun activities for families at DCA, from film screenings and workshops, to free creative activities for all ages and online resources. To make it as easy as possible for you to plan your family trip, our monthly calendar brings everything together in one place.

The summer holidays are here and we've got lots coming up over the next few months to keep the wee ones entertained. If you're coming along to DCA to enjoy some family activity, don't forget that you can extend your visit with a look around our galleries (open Wed-Sun), lunch in Jute Café Bar (you can even colour in the kids menu) and a trip to our shop.

Summer at DCA

In the cinema

This month starts some great screenings in our Cinema, perfect for if the weather takes a turn or even if your looking to escape the heat.

New emotions make an appearance in delightful animated sequel Inside Out 2 and even our tiniest visitors can enjoy it at our Bring a Baby screening. Then there's our monthly Discovery Family Film Club, with Pay What you Can £0-£8 tickets. July's film is the fantastic adventure of Azur & Asmar, a beautifully animated story full of magic. Our Relaxed screening offers a quieter and brighter cinema experience.

And the film fun doesn't end there, with Despicable Me 4 coming to our screens from Fri 12 July - we can't wait to catch up with Gru and the Minions!

Family workshops and events

July sees our final Family Art Lab inspired by artist Sukaina Kubba's exhibition in our galleries. Join our artist tutors to create rug designs, make motifs from nature and try different printmaking techniques together.

Messy Play for 0-3s takes a little break for the summer holidays but will be back in August. In the meantime, drop in to Create Space and enjoy exploring the the play box. Older children can have a go our our activity sheets using the colourful materials provided or get comfy on the sofa with a book from our library.
