February films at DCA

Take a look at what's in store this month at DCA Cinema...

The Oscars race is on, and you can see lots of nominees on the big screen this month, including The Brutalist and The Seed of the Sacred Fig, plus we're bringing back Conclave and BAFTA-nominee Kneecap for awards season. We're also delighted to welcome back the Japan Foundation Touring Film Programme and Discovery Family Film Club. Read on to find out more!

Catch The Brutalist on the big screen

Oscars frontrunners The Brutalist  and A Complete Unknown continue alongside comedy-drama A Real Pain and striking Tom Hanks film Here, the story of a house and its occupants over time. Vermiglio is a wartime drama set in the snowy Alps, and Discovery Family Film Club returns with Donate What You Can tickets for beautiful animated drama The Red Turtle.

Discover powerful new drama

Marianne Jean-Baptiste stars in Mike Leigh’s Hard Truths, and there’s more powerful drama in September 5, the story of the Munich massacre from the perspective of a sports news crew covering the 1972 Olympics. Meanwhile, there are supernatural chills in Steven Soderbergh’s Presence, starring Lucy Liu.

Bridget is back for Valentine's Day

Enjoy the award-winning The Wild Robot to celebrate the school half-term break! There’s comedy in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy and NT Live: The Importance of Being Earnest, and a chance to see Brief Encounter back on the big screen for its 80th anniversary. There’s more gripping drama in Oscar-nominated Iranian thriller The Seed of the Sacred Fig and blood-soaked Irish revenge tale Bring Them Down.

Beware of The Monkey…

Grown-up animated tale Memoir of a Snail arrives, the story of a lonely girl growing up in 1970s Australia. Longlegs director Osgood Perkins returns with horror-comedy The Monkey, while To a Land Unknown is a crime drama following two Palestinian refugees trying to escape from Greece to Germany. Plus, there are more chances to see Conclave and Kneecap.

There’s lots to look forward to, including the return of Parasite director Bong Joon-ho with sci-fi black comedy Mickey 17, Harrison Ford joining the Marvel cinematic universe in Captain America: Brave New World, an acclaimed performance by Pamela Anderson in The Last Showgirl, and a special preview of On Falling from Glasgow FIlm Festival.
