New films from Fri 10 January

See what's on including Maria, 2073, Nickel Boys and more.

Angelina Jolie shines in Maria, arriving at DCA Cinema this week. This glamorous and moving biopic from Pablo Larraín (Jackie, Spencer) explores the final days of iconic opera singer Maria Callas.

Elsewhere, 2073 blends science fiction and documentary to deliver an unsettling commentary on humanity’s fate, and powerful drama Nickel Boys brings Colson Whitehead’s Pulitzer-Prize winning novel to life. There’s also more time to see spine chiller Nosferatu and touching romance We Live in Time.

The much-anticipated Lord of the Rings anime, The War of the Rohirrim, arrives this week – come along and learn the fate of the House of Helm Hammerhand. Finally, our first Artist’s Choice Screening to complement Soft Impressions in DCA Galleries is The Watermelon Woman, selected by artist Helen Cammock. Enjoy!
