New films from Friday 27 September

See what's on at DCA Cinema, including The Outrun, Black Dog, Megalopolis and more.

Travel to the Orkney Islands with The Outrun, arriving at DCA Cinema this week. Saoirse Ronan plays Rona, a young woman who returns home to Orkney to embark on a journey of recovery from addiction. One day at a time, she discovers the power of the island and its people to restore life and renew hope.

Another loner finds companionship in Black Dog, an uplifting drama about an ex-convict in China who forms an unexpected connection with a stray dog. You can also join us for Francis Ford Coppola’s epic Megalopolis, French historical adventure The Count of Monte Cristo, and daring body horror The Substance starring Demi Moore.

Comedy and zombies mix in Shaun of the Dead, romance blossoms in Chuck Chuck Baby, and see Paul McCartney and Wings in One Hand Clapping.  There's also another chance to catch Matthew Bourne's stunning Edward Scissorhands (Dance Version). We’re screening LUX Scotland’s artists’ moving images in Between any two possibilities there is darkness, and we’re delighted to welcome Kate & Jack from We Are Makers to DCA for a post-screening discussion of their documentary An Honest Representation of the Modern Maker. Enjoy!
