Tickets for screenings, courses and workshops
Tickets cannot be refunded after purchase except in the case of a cancelled screening. In the event that DCA is forced to cancel any activity for which you have purchased a ticket, you will be entitled to a refund. You may be offered the choice between a refund, account credit and a donation.
If you are unable to attend an event because you have tested positive for Covid-19 please contact our Visitor Services team on 01382 432444 or at [javascript protected email address].
Ticket offers are subject to availability and may not be used in conjunction with any other offer.
All tickets must be paid for at point of booking.
Whilst every effort is taken to ensure the accuracy of information in print and online, mistakes do happen.
DCA reserves the right to make changes to the programme as necessary.
DCA reserves the right to refuse admission.
DCA welcomes everyone and we are committed to making our programme and facilities accessible. If you have any questions regarding accessibility, please call us on 01382 432444.
Please note that some calls to DCA may be recorded.
Print Studio courses
Courses in DCA Print Studio are suitable for ages 16+.
Please let us know if you require additional assistance at a Print Studio course.
Cinema screenings
DCA asks all customers to refrain from using mobile phones in the cinema.
Customers are welcome to take their drinks from Jute Café Bar into our cinemas in plastic cups, but are asked to refrain from going back to the bar during screenings.
No hot food is allowed in the cinemas, with the sole exception of breakfast rolls at Cine Sundays screenings.
Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult (age 18+) in the cinema unless otherwise stated.
Tickets for Cine Sundays, Bring a Baby and Senior Citizen Kane screenings include refreshments in the ticket price: we cannot guarantee that refreshments will be available if you arrive after the advertised start time of the film.
Family workshops
Please ensure that you check accompanying adult requirements for family workshops and activities before booking – these may vary depending on workshop age ranges and content, and must be adhered to.
Proof of status
We require proof of status for some ticket types:
Student tickets: valid student card
Age-specific concessions: photo ID (driving licence, passport etc)
Unwaged concessions: proof of receipt of unwaged benefits
Carer's ticket: valid CEA card
You must be able to provide proof of age to show you are legally entitled to watch a film you have bought tickets for, e.g. that you are over 15 for a 15 certificate film. We reserve the right to refuse admission if you are unable to provide ID, or if your ID shows that you are not old enough to be allowed admission. You may be asked for this ID at Box Office when purchasing tickets, or on entry to the cinema.
Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers can be purchased for use on our ticketing system, covering DCA Cinema, Print Studio, Courses and Workshops; or separately for DCA Shop. These vouchers cannot be used interchangeably. All DCA vouchers are valid for a year from the date of purchase. Voucher expiry dates cannot be extended or amended.
Membership and 18-25 Membership Terms and Conditions
Your Membership or 18-25 Membership card is issued by and remains the property of DCA, which retains the right to withdraw the card at any time, or to alter, amend or terminate the scheme without notice.
In order to be registered for Membership or 18-25 Membership we need to take your name; we encourage you to also supply an email address so we can inform you of offers and events, but this is not a condition of your membership of any scheme or its related benefits. You can choose to change the information we hold about you at any time. If you are signing up for 18-25 Membership you will be asked for your date of birth and proof of age in order to confirm your eligibility. Proof of age is required in order to hold this membership, but you can request that we do not keep your date of birth on file (allowing us to do so will mean we don’t need to ask for proof of age when you renew your membership). Please see our Privacy Policy for more information about how we ensure your data is held securely and used responsibly.
Any event or product may be excluded from Member or 18-25 Member discounts at the discretion of DCA.
DCA Membership entitles you to one free cinema ticket per year: this can only be used for standard screenings and cannot be exchanged for any other activity at DCA. We reserve the right to remove selected standard screenings from eligibility for this offer at our discretion. This offer cannot be used online and will be automatically applied to the first standard cinema ticket you purchase either at Box Office or over the phone.
Membership, 18-25 Membership and Red Card Plus Cinema discounts apply to standard screenings only. Cine Sundays, Discovery Family Film Club and live events are all exempt from discounts unless otherwise stated. Print Studio discounts apply to standard tickets only and cannot be used with concession tickets. DCA Membership and 18-25 Membership Print Studio course discounts cannot be used in conjunction with Registered User discounts - in this case the discount with the highest saving will be used.
Membership and 18-25 Membership Cinema and Print Studio discounts can be applied online, providing you log in to the website using the same information you subscribed to the scheme with. If you prefer not to set up an online account your discount can be applied in person at Box Office or over the phone.
You must present your Membership or 18-25 Membership card to receive your discount in DCA Shop; and in Jute Café Bar for Members and 18-25 Members. Discounts cannot be retrospectively applied if you don’t have your card with you.
If you sign up for 18-25 Membership online you must collect your Membership card from Box Office before you start attending events and screenings using your discounts. You may be asked to show your Membership card at any events you attend with discounted tickets, and may be refused admission if you are unable to do so.
Membership, 18-25 Membership and Red Card Plus cards show an expiry date on the reverse: if this becomes hard to read you may be asked to request a new card from DCA Box Office before accessing discounts.
Discounts and offers cannot be used in conjunction with one another.
The Membership and 18-25 Membership Shop discounts do not apply to DCA Editions.
The 18-25 Membership Shop discount cannot be used in conjunction with a student discount.
Membership lasts for one year. We will contact you to let you know when you are approaching the renewal period. If you hold an 18-25 Membership and will no longer be eligible for this at the next renewal date we will let you know that this is the case.
To be eligible for 18-25 Membership you must be aged between 18 and 25 on the day you purchase or renew your Membership. Your Membership lasts for one year regardless of whether you turn 26 during that period.
DCA will reissue cards that have been lost, stolen or damaged on request.
